hello city

Bay Area artists had come together to re-imagine Sanrio’s character Hello Kitty, also known as Kitty White, for the Annual Hello City group show “Hello City”. Hello Kitty, first introduced in Japan in 1974 and the US in 1976, has become an iconic image recognized worldwide.

Due to the vast popularity that the superhero and comic book genre has gained over time, I created several comic book-themed illustrations of Hello Kitty. This set is derived from some of Marvel’s most iconic covers and characters. Each design had been hand-drawn then digitally illustrated into vector formats to allow scaling for larger prints. Additional work editing final illustrations gave a vintage comic book appearance when displayed.
